Protect First Financial was built by people who believed there had to be a better way to serve families.
Although Reed, Hector, and Tasha followed different paths into financial planning, each arrived with the same conviction: success means very little if it comes at the expense of your values.
If you’re looking for a career where your character matters as much as your performance, where your voice is valued, and where helping others is the measure of success, we’d love to build something meaningful together.
Reed grew up in Arizona with parents who emphasized education, hard work, and always having a game plan. After multiple ACL injuries forced him to let go of his dream of playing sports professionally, he redirected his passion for numbers into finance, landing a job at a big-box financial firm. He moved quickly into management, learning strategies and gaining expertise in the field. Still, the more he learned, the more he realized that the big-box firms were prioritizing profits over people, and that did not align with Reed’s values.
Hector’s journey began in Puerto Rico, where experiences in the Marine Corps, accounting, entrepreneurship, and rebuilding after devastating hurricanes shaped his resilience and deep appreciation for serving others. After discovering a passion for numbers, he returned to school, obtaining a master’s in Personal Financial Planning and launching a tax firm in Puerto Rico. When a devastating hurricane hit, Hector moved to a big-box firm but quickly realized the role greed played in the corporate sector. After meeting Reed and Tasha, he recognized that their values of integrity and humanity aligned, the three decided to pursue freedom and established Protect First Financial.
Tasha Holtzinger brings that same people-first philosophy to Protect First Financial. Experiencing firsthand how quickly life can change reinforced her belief in the importance of being properly protected before the unexpected happens. She is passionate about taking the time to understand each client’s unique needs, educating them on their options, and helping ensure they have the protection and financial strategies necessary to safeguard themselves and their families.
